We have been working hard to move all of the temporary buildings back to the main campus the past couple of weeks! We are thrilled to announce that the moving is done for the Sahel Academy campus!
There is plenty of work to keep everyone busy setting the campus back up for the next school year - but having it all back at the original campus is something to praise the Lord for!
CBN still has more moving ahead that will take place intermittently throughout the summer - so please pray for safe travels back and forth across the city as the moving continues!

Sahel Academy Graduation
What an incredible end to a very difficult school year! The end of the year celebrations were great as the community gathered together to celebrate God's faithfulness this past year. From flooding to restoration. The end of the year activities were held at the actual Sahel compound in the newly restored dining hall building, Hope Hall! Congratulations seniors!

EEI church returns to the CBN compound
After the flood the church that normally meets at CBN had to find an alternate location and were holding their services under a tent.
They are so glad to be back in their building! It is great to start seeing life return to the campus after it being empty for so long :)

One Bible student tells his story...
This past month has seen much progress with the arrival of the Patterson family to CBN. They have been working hard to prepare the compound for its occupants! As I wrote in an earlier blog, the married students have been able to return to their homes. I had the opportunity to talk with one of the students whose home was flooded and was forced to evacuate.
He is from Cameroon and is in his second and final year of his studies at ESPriT. When the flood took place, he was in his home country and his wife and baby were staying with her family, so their home was unoccupied. When the floods started, his house was completely locked up because of their absence.
Some of his neighbors were able to break his door however and save most of his furniture. They put his boxes of books up onto chairs to assure that they would stay dry. He had over 150 books plus many other study tools and documents. Unfortunately, even though his house itself is elevated, the waters rose so high that the water managed to submerge all of his books.
After spending time helping to clean and prepare his home, he is very thankful to be able to move back into it! He is slowly recollecting books and resources. A devasting blow to him and his family, but he is confidently walking forward in faith and continuing to trust the Lord for his family's future. He hopes to use his Biblical training to serve in Niger for a time and then return to his own people to spread the gospel there.
Thank you for praying for him and the many other students who have been so drastically affected by the flood!

Dining Hall work continues with a team from California
We are excited to welcome a team from Green Valley church in California to Sahel Academy! After the hard work of the previous team who gutted and tore down the roof of the dining hall, this team has come to begin the restoration by putting a new roof on the building.
So the work begins! Stay tuned for more pictures of their progress.
They start really early each morning to beat some of the heat and sun.

Calling all electricians!
We are in search of electricians for both CBN and Sahel Academy
If you or someone you know is interested in joining our flood restoration efforts in this way - we would love to talk with you more! We are looking for electricians who are ready for a challenge and are familiar with commercial projects. The system is European, so if you have any knowledge of how that system works it will help. Please spread the word and be in prayer that we can find some people to come and work in this area! Thank you!
Here is a picture of the electrician and his wife who just returned home after spending a month and a half working hard! We are so thankful for the time that they spent serving the Lord here in Niger!
Thank you!

EMI team (Engineering Ministries International)
We are so thankful for this great group of men who have been working hard to help us make a plan for CBN and Sahel. They are working to provide the most practical and cost-effective, yet wise plan for these properties. Both to protect them from further harm, and to restore them for further ministry use.
Thank you guys so much!

Many of you have been asking how fundraising for the flood relief has been going. We don't have any exact figures to share with you at this point, but we are thankful to have raised over $200,000 to date.
There is a team of engineers on their way here, with EMI who will be studying and working with SIM Niger to form a plan and an exact budget for what it will take to complete it. At that time we will know how much more we are hoping to raise. We are certainly still fundraising! Once we have a better outline of restoration costs and relief opportunities, we will post more information.
Thank you so much for all of your support and prayers! To Him be the glory!
